ZaraTE and Vaz Te....are they good enough?
Both these two frustrate me no end. Last night Zarate had ample opportunity to shine but he failed to do so. I find him greedy and lacking in consistency which is is exactly how I find Vaz Te.

Both of them have the ability to change a game but unfortunately show very little desire to actually do this. I would move both of them out in the January window, free up some money to bring in a decent forward.

What do you lot think?

Yeah cause Zarate has had a good run in the side to prove himself, and when he has come on in recent games he hasn't at all made us better and played quite well.

What do I think, begins with c and ends with t.

Re: ZaraTE and Vaz Te....are they good enough?
G'day Banjo, long time no speak hope all is well, unfortunately they are squad players at best for our team now, we have signed some great players which will get better in my opinion such as Kouyate, Valencia, Sakho (hope he is not a flash in the pan), Song (who is probably our best ever quality signing overall), Zarate show's it in patches but not consistent enough to be a regular 1st teamer, Vaz Te had the potential but average player unfortunately in the premier league, that lad Ravel Morrison however.....he should be in our squad now!

G'day DR, good to hear from you mate.

I tend to agree about Morrison, if only his head was screwed on properly what a fucking talent he would be.

Take care mate, I'll be over your way in the new year, I'll let you know mate.

Re: ZaraTE and Vaz Te....are they good enough?
If zarate plays with Sakho and Valencia he would generally get more space due to the runs they make however when he plays with AC it doesn't work as there is less space and very congested...

He can get round / find an angle for 1/2 occasionally but generally gets shut down.

That also goes for downing which is why I think he played on the left last night...

I think he is a great 'super sub' in a solskjaeresque role to come on and get a goal with a bit of flair or skill but he looked really unfit to me out there also...

Re: ZaraTE and Vaz Te....are they good enough?
Zarate is a skilful player who could score out of nothing & change a game. Yes he can be greedy, but he is also inventive & makes things happen. Vaz Te could be a useful sub & has hardly had much chance to impress this season. I shall forever be grateful for his winning play off final goal!

Re: ZaraTE and Vaz Te....are they good enough?
Zarate hasnt had long enough yet or a good run in the side to prove himself but I see him as good cover for the no.10 roll that Downing has.

Vaz Te - has mostly frustrated me from day 1. Has the skill/ability to produce a moment of magic to turn a game but all too rare-although he rarely gets the chance these days to be fair. Impact sub if we need a goal.

Vaz te is the ramprakash of football...too good for the championship but not quite good enough for the top flight

Zarate a useful and talented enough player to have on the bench, fill in for injuries and suspensions.

Vaz Te a waste of a shirt at this level.

Zarate's best game for us was against Palace, in which he played behind/alongside Carlton Cole. Cole does not and will never again create more space than Caroll so I don't see why he should be excluded from the squad when we play the Carroll formation. IMO Zarate has just been the victim of injury as well as the sterling form of Sakho and Valencia, possibly also that Allardyce never wanted him and is reluctant to integrate him fully into the squad.

As for Vaz Te, he does not look good enough for this level and has frustrated when he has played but we would not even be in the Premier League without his form when arriving and he has scored some important goals and provided assists since we got promoted. Ultimately I cannot see how he is on top wages given where he came from and his standing in the game so I feel like he is a pretty worthwhile option until we can afford better/ he has enough and wants to fuck off.

Re: ZaraTE and Vaz Te....are they good enough?
I'd like to see more of Zarate, especially playing off Carroll. Neither are great goal-scorers - not at the moment anyway - but I like the way that they put pressure on a defence.

Definitely third and fourth choice at the moment but that could change if Sakho ends up being a flash in the pan.

Re: ZaraTE and Vaz Te....are they good enough?
Vazte is a lost case, end off!

Zarate is a creative and skilful player that would play far better with a better midfield than we had against wba.

Would build a team around zarate.

Wouldnt let vaz te build a shed.

Re: ZaraTE and Vaz Te....are they good enough?
If you saw the Everton and Newcastle games then you shouldn't even be asking the question ref Zarate, he's arguably our most talented player.

As for Vaz Te, I'm quite sure you know very well what the answer to that is. He stinks the place out...would be lucky to get a couple of tracksuits for him.

Re: ZaraTE and Vaz Te....are they good enough?
Flair players hold the ball more, when it works it's great, when it doesn't they are greedy. Can't have it both ways.

IMO Zarate is a decent squad member, RVT needs to move on.

Hairy this, among other reasons, is why im not a premiership manager i get attached to people over glimpses of brilliance, i'd still be giving freddie sears a chance too, if you were wondering.
